Elderly Man Killed in Road Accident at Jandiali Chowk in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: A 60-year-old man died in a road accident in Ludhiana on Chandigarh Road.

The accident happened outside a grocery store at Jandiali Chowk. The deceased has been identified as Davinder Prasad.

Was Going to Get Shoes Polished

According to his son Uttam, Davinder Prasad was going to get his shoes polished near the chowk. He was planning to travel to Uttar Pradesh to celebrate Holi and was preparing to return to his village.

He had been living in Ludhiana for about 18 years.

Hit by Speeding Truck

A truck (PB-10-LA-8435) coming from Ludhiana allegedly hit him. The truck driver, identified as Gurcharan Singh, was reportedly driving at high speed and in a reckless manner.

Davinder Prasad suffered serious head injuries in the accident.

Declared Dead at Hospital

Family members rushed him to Civil Hospital Ludhiana, where doctors declared him dead.

Police Register Case

Based on the statement of the deceased’s son, police have registered a case against the truck driver. An investigation has started, and police are conducting raids to arrest the accused.

The family is in deep shock after the incident. Local residents have demanded strict action against negligent drivers to prevent such tragic accidents in the future.
