Sister Steals Gold, Silver Jewellery from Brother’s House in Ludhiana, Flees with Daughter and Niece

Ludhiana: A shocking incident has come to light in the Meharban police station area of ​​Ludhiana. Here, a biological sister targeted her brother’s home, making off with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. The accused woman, in collusion with her daughter, executed this act of theft. Acting on the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Taking Advantage of an Empty House

In the complaint submitted to the police, Sohan Lal—a resident of Model Colony, Meharban—stated that on April 12, he had gone out with his family for some work. No one was left at home. During this time, unidentified individuals stole valuable gold and silver jewellery from the wardrobe in his house. Upon returning home, he was stunned to find his belongings scattered and his jewellery missing.

Personal Investigation Reveals Sister’s Involvement

The victim, Sohan Lal, explained that initially, he suspected a professional gang of thieves had committed the crime. However, when he conducted his own inquiry into the matter and questioned the neighbors, the truth emerged. He discovered that during his absence, his biological sister, Jyoti (wife of Rakesh Kumar), had visited his home accompanied by her daughter, Saloni (alias Naina).

Took Niece Along After the Theft

The investigation confirmed that it was Jyoti and her daughter Saloni who had jointly stolen the gold and silver jewelry from the wardrobe. Furthermore, according to the complainant, as the accused mother-daughter duo was making off with the stolen jewelry, they also took along his other niece, Nandini, who happened to be present in the house at the time. The accused women are reported to be residents of Gulchaman Gali, near Sunheri Gurudwara in Chaura Bazaar.

FIR filed by the police

Based on Sohan Lal’s statements, the police at Meharban Police Station have registered a case against the accused sister, Jyoti, and niece, Saloni (alias Naina), under Sections 305 and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have now launched a search for the accused individuals. Further legal proceedings regarding the case are underway.
