Ludhiana: Class 6th student commits suicide after appearing for exam

A sixth-grade student in Ludhiana committed suicide by hanging herself. She returned home from school after taking an exam and shortly thereafter went into her room. She hung herself from the ceiling fan and ended her life. The family discovered the incident when she didn’t come out from her room until late in the evening.

When they heard no sound from inside, the family broke the door open and found the girl hanging from the ceiling fan. They informed the police. The deceased has been identified as Anjali, 13, a resident of Dhandhari Khurd. Family members said Anjali had appeared normal when she returned home after taking her exam on Tuesday.

No response after knocking on the door.

After a while, she went back to her room. When there was no response from the room, the family knocked on the door. When they didn’t hear any response, they peeped through the window and found Anjali’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. Neighbors gathered and helped the girl down from the ceiling, but she had already died.

Anjali has four siblings. Her father works in a factory, and her mother is a homemaker. The parents are inconsolable after their daughter’s death, and the entire neighborhood is in mourning. Everyone is wondering why such a young girl took such a drastic step.

Police are investigating today.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team arrived at the scene and began the investigation. Investigating officer, Head Constable Harbans Singh, stated that the body has been taken into custody and placed in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. A postmortem will be conducted today.
