Machhiwara Sahib Encounter: Betel shooter injured in Police action near Khanpur forest

Machhiwara, August 5: The betel killer (shooter) Salim, who shot and injured young Jasprit Singh at Chak Lohat village near Machhiwara Sahib, had an encounter with the police at around 10:30 pm. In which Salim was shot in the leg and the police caught him and admitted him to the hospital.

SP (D) Pawanjit Singh said that some people had already been arrested in the case of attacking Jasprit Singh. One of them, Salim, a resident of village Roorkee, was brought to the forest area of Khanpur village in Bet area for recovery of weapons.

When Salim took out the revolver and cartridges lying on the ground, he suddenly tried to snatch the revolver of police station in-charge, Harvinder Singh and tried to run away. The police party present at the spot took immediate action and shot Salim in the leg and arrested him.

The police also recovered weapons, the revolver with which Jaspreet Singh was shot.

SP (D) Pawanjit Singh said that in the initial investigation, it has come to light that the Shooter was given supari from abroad to kill Jaspreet Singh. However, Jaspreet is fighting for his life and is admitted to the hospital.

He said that a thorough investigation is being done in this matter and soon this big case will be revealed. Salim has several serious cases registered against him in the past. Salim, who was injured in the encounter, has been admitted to Samrala Hospital.
