Madhya Pradesh: Birthday outing turns fatal; 3 killed after car rams into parked dumper

Bhopal/Vidisha: Six friends, returning from a birthday celebration in the Kurwai area of ​​Vidisha district in Madhya Pradesh, collided with a roadside dumper early Monday morning. Three young men died on the spot and three others were seriously injured. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Melua intersection on State Highway 14.

Car badly damaged, rescue underway with cutter and JCB

The speeding car rammed into the parked dumper with such force that the front portion of the vehicle was completely crushed, trapping the young men inside. Police teams immediately arrived at the scene and, with the help of cutters and a JCB, pulled out the injured after much effort. However, three youths could not be saved.

The deceased have been identified as Ankit Sahu (21), Tanay Sharma (19), who were returning after celebrating their birthday, and Jagdish Sahu (31), who was driving the car. This information was provided by investigating officer Shailendra Nayak.

Three in critical condition, one referred to Bhopal

The injured youths—Monty Ahirwar, Jagdish Gond, and Tanmay Srivastava—were first admitted to the Kurwai Community Health Center and then to the Vidisha District Hospital for better treatment. Monty remains in critical condition and has been referred to Bhopal.

Negligence suspected, parking and visibility investigated

Preliminary investigations suggest that high speed, poor lighting, and the absence of reflectors/warning signs on the dumper may have contributed to the accident. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Officials say a forensic report will determine whether the driver was drunk.

This accident has once again raised questions about highway safety at night and the dangerous parking of large vehicles on the roadside.
