Obscene video played during e-Choupal meeting in Maharajganj, FIR filed

Maharajganj (Uttar Pradesh), August 12: A case of playing obscene videos and making offensive comments during an online public hearing meeting organized by the Education Department in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh has come to light. The incident took place during an “e-Choupal” meeting held through Zoom on August 7.

The meeting was held under the supervision of District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, in which Basic Education Officers, Block Education Officers, Headmasters of government schools, teachers and the general public were present.

According to officials, the objective of the meeting was to give people an opportunity to directly interact with the District Magistrate and discuss issues related to schools. However, a user named “Jason Junior” shared his screen and played an obscene video, due to which the officials present in the meeting immediately walked out of the meeting.

Apart from this, another user named “Arjun” also made derogatory remarks during the meeting, although the authorities did not provide details about it.

On August 9, a complaint was filed against two unidentified persons at the Sadar Kotwali police station by Basic Education Officer Riddhi Pandey and Block Education Officer of Farenda Sudama Prasad.

Sadar Kotwali SHO Satinder Rai confirmed that the case is being investigated and the culprits are being identified through technical means with the help of cyber police.

“The culprits will be identified soon and strict action will be taken against them,” he said.
