Majitha Case: Missing Posters Surface as Police Issue LOC for Bikram Majithia

Amritsar: Following the registration of a case and the issuance of a lookout circular (LOC) against senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia in connection with alleged irregularities and violent clashes during the Majitha Municipal Council elections, ‘missing’ posters have been put up in the constituency.

Allegations of an attempt to free the accused from police custody

According to reports, Majitha police had arrested Jobanpreet Singh on charges of electoral irregularities. It is alleged that Bikram Majithia, along with his supporters and members of the Kirti Kisan Union, went to the Majitha police station to free him from police custody.

Police say attempts were made to free the accused, but they were thwarted. Following this, a case was registered against Majithia at the Majitha police station.

Lookout Circular Issued on High Court Order

Following the registration of the case, a lookout circular was issued against Bikram Majithia on the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Several teams of Amritsar Police are continuously raiding possible hideouts in search of him, but no trace of him has been found so far.

Posters Seek Information from the Public

Meanwhile, posters have been put up at various places in the Majitha area by unknown individuals, declaring Bikram Majithia “missing.” The posters urge people to inform the Majitha police station if they have any information about him.

The appearance of these posters has sparked discussion throughout the area and heated up the political atmosphere. The exchange of accusations and counter-accusations between the opposition and ruling parties is also expected to intensify.
