Major Crackdown in Amritsar: 5 Arrested With 9 Pistols and 6.311 Kg Heroin

Amritsar: Amritsar Commissionerate Police, taking action against illegal arms and drug trafficking, has busted three networks. Police have arrested five accused in this case. Nine illegal pistols and 6.311 kg of heroin have been recovered from their possession.

Accused in contact with foreign handlers

Initial police investigations have revealed that the arrested accused were in contact with handlers based abroad. According to the police, the accused were provided with consignments of weapons and drugs on the instructions of these handlers. They then distributed them to other members of the network.

Three FIRs registered, investigation progresses

A total of three FIRs have been registered in the Cantonment and Chheharta police stations of Amritsar in this case. Police are now working to identify and determine the role of other individuals involved in the network.

Investigation of the entire supply network

Investigative agencies are investigating the accused’s “backward and forward links.” This is to identify the source of arms and heroin supply and the individuals responsible for their delivery.

Search for other accused continues

Police say the primary objective of the operation is to completely dismantle the illegal arms and drug trafficking network. Further investigation is underway, and a search is underway for other suspects linked to the network.
