Major incident in Jalandhar: RTI activist and lawyer Simranjit Singh shot dead

A major murder incident has been committed by unknown persons in broad daylight in Jalandhar. Let us tell you that RTI activist and lawyer Simranjit Singh has been shot dead.

According to the information received, the incident was committed by unknown assailants. Let us tell you that lawyer Simranjit Singh has been shot by unknown assailants near Cheheru on the Jalandhar-Ludhiana highway. Sources said that the victim was directly targeted and was hit by several bullets.

The main reason behind the murder is not yet known. Police teams have reached the spot and started investigating the incident.

Regarding the matter, DIG, Jalandhar Range, Naveen Singla said that he had received a call regarding the recovery of the body at the Kapurthala control room.

When the team reached there, a .32 bore pistol and a 12 bore rifle were recovered from the spot. The officials are also collecting CCTV footage from nearby areas as part of the investigation. A case has been registered. Further action has been initiated in the matter.
