Major operation in Hanumangarh: Two smugglers arrested with 725 grams of heroin

Hanumangarh: As part of the ongoing campaign against drug trafficking in Hanumangarh, the Sangaria police station has taken a major action and arrested two interstate smugglers. Police recovered 725 grams of heroin (chitta), estimated to be worth approximately ₹1.5 crore in the international market.

Accused residents of Punjab

The arrested accused have been identified as Simarjeet Singh (20) and Arshdeep Singh (21), residents of Bathinda district, Punjab. Preliminary investigations revealed that both had been active in drug trafficking for a long time and were operating their network along the Rajasthan-Punjab border.

Caught during patrol

The team was on patrol as part of the ongoing campaign under the direction of Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena. Meanwhile, two young men riding a motorcycle were found in suspicious circumstances near Ratanpura on Bharatmala Road. Upon searching them, heroin was recovered, after which they were immediately arrested.

Case registered under the NDPS Act, investigation ongoing

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act in this matter, and further investigation is underway. Police are interrogating the accused and gathering information about other people involved in their network. Officials have clarified that the campaign against drug trafficking will be intensified.
