Major Reshuffle in Jalandhar-Amritsar Municipal Corporations; New Commissioners Appointed

The Punjab government has carried out an administrative reshuffle at the municipal corporation level, altering the responsibilities of the Municipal Commissioners of Jalandhar and Amritsar. Under the new orders, Surendra Singh, the Commissioner of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation, has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation.

Meanwhile, IAS officer Pallavi Mishra has been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as the new Commissioner of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation. These orders come into effect immediately.

Additional Charge of Jalandhar Withdrawn from Sandeep Rishi

IAS officer Sandeep Rishi, who was holding the additional charge of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Commissioner, will now be relieved of this responsibility. He will continue to discharge his primary duty as the Chief Administrator of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA).

Sandeep Rishi had been assigned the additional charge of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Commissioner only a short while ago.

Surendra Singh to Take Charge of Jalandhar

Surendra Singh, currently serving as the Commissioner of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation, will now assume administrative charge of Jalandhar. He will face the challenge of streamlining the city’s sanitation system, enhancing civic amenities, and accelerating pending development projects.

Improving municipal operations in Jalandhar and ensuring the timely completion of development schemes will be among his key priorities.

Pallavi Mishra Entrusted with Amritsar

IAS officer Pallavi Mishra has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Amritsar Municipal Corporation. Given Amritsar’s significance as a religious and tourism hub, her key responsibilities will include effectively managing city sanitation, basic amenities, and development projects.

This administrative reshuffle by the government aims to enhance the operational efficiency of the municipal corporations and accelerate development activities in both cities.
