Major Reshuffle: Nine UP Faces Likely to Get Major Roles in BJP National Organisation

Uttar Pradesh: Major organisational changes are expected in the Bharatiya Janata Party as newly appointed National President Nitin Naveen prepares to announce his new national team.

Political observers and party workers are closely watching the development, with indications that younger leaders may receive greater prominence this time. The move is being seen as an effort to improve coordination between the party president and office bearers ahead of crucial political battles, including the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Nitin Naveen was appointed BJP National Working President on December 14, 2025, before formally taking charge as National President on January 20, 2026.

BJP Looking to Balance Caste Equations in Uttar Pradesh

According to party sources, the BJP is likely to carefully balance caste representation while finalising the new national team from Uttar Pradesh.

    The proposed structure may include:

    • One Brahmin leader
    • One Thakur representative
    • One Vaishya face
    • Two to three leaders from backward classes

The strategy is aimed at strengthening the party’s social coalition ahead of the 2027 state elections.

Major Changes Expected in BJP National Team

Several senior leaders from Uttar Pradesh currently hold important positions in the BJP’s national organisation, but a major reshuffle is now considered likely.

Leaders Who May Get New Roles

    • National General Secretaries Arun Singh and Radha Mohan Das Agrawal may either be removed from their current posts or assigned new responsibilities.
    • National Vice Presidents Tariq Mansoor, Rekha Verma, and Laxmikant Vajpayee could also be replaced by new faces.
    • National Treasurer Rajesh Agarwal may step aside due to age considerations.

    Promotion Likely

    • National Minister Surendra Singh Nagar is reportedly being considered for a promotion in recognition of his organisational work.

Key Contenders from Uttar Pradesh for BJP’s New National Team

Several leaders from Uttar Pradesh are being discussed as strong contenders for major responsibilities in the reorganised BJP structure.

    Leaders Backed by Central Leadership

Some contenders are considered close to top BJP leaders such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP organiser B. L. Santhosh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

    Others are recognised for:

    • Election management expertise
    • Strong organisational networks
    • RSS coordination
    • Influence among backward classes, Vaishya, Gurjar, and Brahmin communities
    • Experience in media management and campaign strategy

Some leaders have also played significant roles in elections in Assam, Tripura, Varanasi, and other politically important regions.

    Why BJP’s National Executive Matters

Joining the BJP national executive is considered a major political milestone because it provides leaders with:

    National-Level Recognition

Leaders move beyond state-level politics and gain a direct role in the party’s national framework.

    Direct Access to Top Leadership

National executive meetings are attended by senior figures including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and BJP National President, giving members a direct channel to influence decision-making.

    Role in Policy Formation

Members contribute to political and economic resolutions adopted by the party at the national level.

    Greater Influence in Ticket Distribution

National office bearers often play an important role in organisational appointments and candidate selection during Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

Uttar Pradesh BJP Organisation Also Likely to Change

Alongside the national reshuffle, major changes are also expected in the Uttar Pradesh BJP organisation.

State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, who assumed charge on December 14, 2025, has reportedly reached Delhi with a proposed list for the new state executive committee.

Sources indicate that several regional presidents may be replaced after a performance review. Senior leaders such as Santosh Singh, Vijay Bahadur Pathak, Amarpal Maurya, and Kanta Kardam are being discussed for possible roles in the central organisation.

The BJP is also expected to induct younger and more active workers into the state organisation as part of its preparations for upcoming elections.
