Major setback to Punjab Govt as High Court orders release of DA Arrears in 15 days

The Punjab government has suffered a major legal setback after the Punjab and Haryana High Court dismissed its appeal in a case related to the payment of Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears to government employees.

A Division Bench of the High Court upheld the earlier order passed by a Single Bench, effectively confirming that eligible employees are entitled to receive the pending DA arrears.

With the government’s appeal rejected, the High Court has directed the Punjab government to release the outstanding DA arrears to the concerned employees within 15 days.
