Major twist to DU Student Acid attack case: Incident turns out fake; father held in rape case

In a major twist, the acid attack against a Delhi University (DU) student has been revealed to be false. Police detained and interrogated the student’s father, Aqeel Khan. He confessed to plotting the acid attack to frame three young men. The flammable substance was not acid, but toilet cleaner.

In fact, a 20-year-old student of DU’s Laxmibai College had claimed that three young men, Jitendra, Ishaan, and Armaan, threw acid on her while she was on her way to college in the Ashok Vihar area on the morning of October 26th. They later fled the scene. The student stated that Jitendra had been stalking her for some time.

Police investigations revealed that Jitendra’s wife had filed a rape case against the student’s father. The complaint stated that she had been sexually assaulted while working at Aqeel’s factory. Her private photographs were also taken.

What Student said about the attack

I am a resident of Mukandpur. While I was on my way to college, Jitendra arrived on a bike with his two friends, Ishaan and Armaan. Ishaan gave Armaan a bottle, and he threw acid on me. I tried to protect my face, but both my hands were burned. After the attack, the accused fled the scene.

The student’s brother stated that Jitendra used to stalk his sister. She had also argued with Jitendra some time ago.

    Police investigation revelations

After the incident came to light, the police began an investigation. CCTV footage was examined at the location where the incident was claimed to have occurred, but the three young men on the bike were nowhere to be seen.

The investigation also revealed that Jitendra was present with his wife in the Karol Bagh area at the time of the reported incident. His location, call details, and CCTV footage were also retrieved, which confirmed his presence with his wife in Karol Bagh.

No trace of accid, bottle found

The bike on which the three men were said to have fled was also found in Karol Bagh. The three young men were never seen together. Furthermore, no traces of acid, bottles, or glass were found at the scene.

Police stated that the girl had traveled to Ashok Vihar with her brother on a scooter, then took an e-rickshaw, and got off about 300 meters before the college’s main gate.

Police investigations revealed that the reason for traveling such a long distance was unclear. Furthermore, according to the police, no traces of acid were found on the girl’s bag. The bag, which contained a kurti, has been confiscated.
