Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu: A 30-year-old man, Silambarasan, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Priya, whose body was found stuffed in a drum and buried near a burial ground in Tiruvallur district, police said on Wednesday.
Details of the Crime
According to Superintendent of Police Vivekananda Shukla, Silambarasan confessed to strangling Priya, 26, on August 14. He reportedly disposed of her body about three kilometres from their home.

Priya had recently visited her parents in Pudupalayam near Arani, expressing her wish to separate from her husband.
Her family persuaded her to return home, but when she did not come back for nearly two months, her father, Srinivasan, filed a missing person complaint with Arambakkam Police.

βWhen questioned, Silambarasan kept changing his story, raising our suspicion. He later confessed to the crime,β said the SP.
A murder case has been filed, and Silambarasan has been remanded for 15 days. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and police are exploring other possible motives for the crime.
