Young man attacks PCR team in Ludhiana, tore uniform of ASI on duty

A young man launched a deadly attack on a PCR team that had arrived to resolve a dispute in Ludhiana’s Moti Nagar area. The accused not only tore the uniform of an ASI on duty but also attempted to kill a constable by throwing a glass at his neck. When the constable tried to defend himself, the glass hit his shoulder. After the incident, the accused fled the scene.

Complainant Constable Balwinder Singh stated that on the night of March 7th, he was posted at PCR-21 with ASI Sarabjit Singh. They received information from the control room that Mohit Kumar and his uncle’s son, Salim Masih, alias Vicky, were fighting in Mohalla Beant Pura.

Uniform torn and glass attacked

When the police team arrived at the scene, the accused, Salim Masih, was fighting with his uncle, Tilak Masih. According to the police, Salim was heavily intoxicated. When the police tried to stop him, he started pushing and shoving the team.

During the scuffle, the accused tore ASI Sarabjit Singh’s uniform. The accused then attacked Constable Balwinder Singh with a glass on his neck. Balwinder defended himself, and the glass struck his left shoulder, injuring him.

Moti Nagar police have registered a case against the accused, Salim Masih alias Vicky. Police say the accused is currently absconding and raids are underway to arrest him. The injured constable has received a medical examination.
