Mandi Police Safely Recover Missing Eighth-Grade Student from Madhya Pradesh

Mandi: Police in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh, have achieved a major success. A minor eighth-grade student from DAV School, Mandi, has been safely recovered from the Pipri area of ​​Madhya Pradesh. The student had gone missing under the jurisdiction of Police Outpost Urban, Sadar Mandi Police Station.

A missing person complaint was filed on February 23.

According to reports, the student’s father, Mohan Lal, filed a police complaint on February 23, 2026. He stated that his daughter had gone to school but did not return home. Based on the complaint, a case number 66/26 was registered at Sadar Mandi Police Station under Section 137(2) of the Indian Penal Code, and immediate action was initiated.

SP formed a special team

Given the seriousness of the case, Mandi Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar formed a special team consisting of Chief Constable Pawan Kumar, Constable Ajay Kumar, and Female Constable Santosh Kumari. The team began an investigation based on technical evidence and other vital clues.

Search operation conducted in four states

During the investigation, the police team raided possible hideouts. A continuous search was conducted in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh to find the girl. The team coordinated operations with local police at various locations.

Recovered on February 27, the student reached Mandi on February 28.

After sustained efforts and technical analysis, the girl was recovered safely from Pipri, Madhya Pradesh, on February 27th. On February 28th, a police team brought the student safely to Mandi. The family expressed gratitude for the police’s prompt action and efforts.

Investigation continues

Police said further investigation into the case is underway and all aspects are being thoroughly examined.
