Mandi Student Murder Case: Accused Hospitalized After Health Deteriorates During Police Remand

The accused, who had been sent to police remand in connection with the murder of college student Siya in Gopalpur, had to be hospitalized after his health deteriorated. Confirming this, DSP Sanjeev Gautam stated that the accused is currently undergoing treatment, and his mental health will also be evaluated.

On Tuesday, Siya’s last rites were performed in her ancestral village amidst tight police security. Her cousin, Divyansh, lit the funeral pyre. A wave of grief has swept through the family; Siya is survived by three sisters.

The investigation has revealed that the accused had been carrying a sickle with him for a long time. The police have recovered the sickle used in the incident. According to sources, a woman is an eyewitness to the crime, and her testimony is considered crucial to the case. Following the incident, when locals surrounded the accused, he attacked several youths with the sickle; a video of this altercation has also surfaced.
