Mandi: Youth from Kasauli arrested in Aut with 3.066 kg of charas; police investigating supply network

In a major operation against drug trafficking in Mandi district, the Aut police arrested a young man with 3.066 kilograms of charas (cannabis resin). The arrest took place during a routine vehicle check near Jhalogi (Dwara flyover).

According to the police, a team from the Aut police station had set up a checkpoint in the area to inspect vehicles and suspicious individuals. During this process, a young man was searched based on suspicion, and 3.066 kilograms of charas was recovered from his possession.

The arrested individual has been identified as Ashish Thakur, a resident of Kasauli in Solan district. Following the recovery, the police registered a case against him under Section 20 of the NDPS Act at the Aut police station and placed him under arrest.

The police will produce the accused in court on Monday and seek his remand. Investigative agencies are now working to determine the source of the contraband and its intended destination. Additionally, the roles of other potential individuals linked to this network are being investigated.

Mandi Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar stated that a thorough investigation is underway and every aspect related to the drug trafficking case will be examined.
