Problem of going to the office for the elderly is over, Mann government has launched Seva Portal

Punjab Desk: Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema today launched the Pensioner Seva Portal, designed to make pension services more streamlined, simple, and transparent for the state’s approximately 3.15 lakh pensioners. The portal, https://pensionersewa.punjab.gov.in, aims to automate the pension disbursement process and provide various online services to pensioners and family pensioners.

Addressing a press conference at Punjab Bhawan, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema informed that the portal will initially offer six key services to pensioners: submitting a digital life certificate through the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ mobile app, applying for pension conversion to family pension through the Successor Module, applying for Leave Travel Concession (LTC), filing pension-related complaints through the Grievance Redressal Module, modifying personal information through the Profile Update Module, and e-KYC. To avail the verification facility, the mobile app “Pramaan” can be downloaded from Android phones

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aadhaar.life and Apple phones https://apps.apple.com/in/app/jeevanpramaan/id6736359405.

The Finance Minister stated that the process for availing these services is simple and user-friendly. Pensioners can register on the Pensioner Seva Portal by completing e-KYC through the Aadhaar authentication facility. They can then log in through their mobile phone, PC, or laptop and avail these services from the comfort of their homes. He explained that these services can also be availed through the Jeevan app on the phone through the nearest service centers, respective bank branches, or district treasury offices. Home delivery is also available.

Clarifying the situation for pensioners living abroad, the Finance Minister stated that the portal is currently only applicable within India, so foreign pensioners are not required to complete e-KYC in the initial phase.

He assured that the e-KYC facility will be enabled for NRI pensioners soon. Until then, foreign pensioners will continue to submit manual life certificates as before. Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema acknowledged that some pensioners may face difficulties during the initial registration. To provide immediate assistance and resolution, a bar room has been set up in the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts, Pensions and New Pension Scheme.

In addition, three helpline numbers have been issued for prompt redressal of complaints: 1800-180-2148, 0172-2996385, and 0172-2996386, which will be operational from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days.

The Finance Minister informed that employees of district treasuries, banks, and service centers have been trained to operate the portal, and detailed guidelines have been issued. He added that the system has already successfully completed its pilot testing phase, paving the way for its full implementation across the state.

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema emphasized, “Our pensioners are our honor.” He said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed and sensitive to the needs of its retired employees.

The “Pensioner Seva Portal” is a revolutionary step in this direction, providing timely, accurate, and hassle-free services to all pensioners in the state. He expressed confidence that this innovative initiative will provide relief to millions of pensioners in Punjab and make their lives simpler and more dignified.
