Manoj Sinha Leads Anti-Drug Drive in Samba

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday led a major anti-drug campaign in Samba district as part of the administration’s ongoing push to make the Union Territory drug-free. Addressing a large gathering during the awareness drive, Sinha said the government would take strict action against drug traffickers while urging society to actively participate in the fight against narcotics.

Part of 100-Day ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ Campaign

The Samba event forms part of the broader 100-day ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan’ launched by the administration to intensify anti-drug enforcement, awareness campaigns, rehabilitation measures, and community outreach across the Union Territory.

‘Will Strike Hard Against Drug Networks’

Sinha asserted that authorities are committed to dismantling drug networks operating in the region and warned that those involved in narcotics trade would face the harshest legal action. He said the administration is determined to eliminate the drug menace through coordinated enforcement and public participation.

Calls for Public Participation

Emphasising that law enforcement alone cannot solve the crisis, the Lieutenant Governor said the anti-drug fight must become a people’s movement driven by awareness, cooperation, and community action. He urged citizens, parents, teachers, and local leaders to join hands in protecting youth from substance abuse.

Drug Menace Linked to Narco-Terror Networks

Highlighting the larger security implications, Sinha alleged that cross-border narco-terror networks are fuelling drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir to destabilise society and target the younger generation. He said the administration would respond with full force to break such networks.
