Many positions vacant in RPSC recruitment, low selection due to lack of minimum marks

Ajmer: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released the final results for the Political Science and Commerce Lecturer recruitment after eligibility checks and document verification. Only 6 candidates were selected in Political Science, leaving 219 out of 225 positions vacant.

Extremely low selections in Political Science
The Commission had announced recruitment for a total of 2,202 positions in various subjects on October 25, 2024, including 225 positions in Political Science. The examination for this subject was held on July 6, 2025. Out of 84,846 candidates, 45,674 appeared for the examination. 386 candidates were disqualified for not completing any option in more than 10 percent of the questions.

The cutoff list of the results shows “NA” (Candidate Not Available) in all categories except General, ST General, and Ex-Servicemen General, indicating a lack of eligible candidates.

Minimum 40% Marks Required, Not Enough Eligible Candidates Found
In the lecturer recruitment exam, a 40% mark was required for the general category, while reserved categories were given a 5% relaxation. Despite this, many candidates failed to achieve the minimum marks, resulting in a large number of vacancies.

58 vacancies also remain vacant in Commerce
The exam was conducted for 340 vacancies in the Commerce subject. The eligibility list was released on November 3, after which the document verification process was completed. The Commission declared 265 candidates successful in the main list and 17 in the reserved list, but 58 vacancies remained vacant due to the minimum marks requirement.
