Massive blast at oxygen plant in Punjab’s Mohali; two dead, 3 injured

A cylinder blast took place in a factory in the industrial area of Mohali in Punjab, in which 2 people have died. Whereas, 3 people are reported to be injured. There is chaos in the area after the accident. The explosion was so strong that the walls of the surrounding houses shook and the roof of the factory also suffered a lot of damage.

At present, the exact cause of the blast is not clear. Police teams have reached the spot, andan  an investigation of the matter is going on.

According to the information, the place where the blast took place was an oxygen plant. It is learned that cylinders were being loaded here. Meanwhile, suddenly there was a blast in the cylinder. During this, about 5 people were there. Out of this, two people died on the spot. DSP Harsimran Bal confirmed the deaths.

Oxygen was supplied to hospitals
Mohali Deputy Mayor Kuljit Bedi and SDM Damanpreet Kaur have reached the spot. Also, now the work of removing all the cylinders is going on. This explosion was so dangerous that the bodies of the dead were blown to pieces.

The factory where the explosion took place is running in the name of Hi-Tech Industry. It has been found that this factory is very old. Oxygen cylinders are sent from here to all the government and private hospitals of Tricity.
