Massive Fire Breaks Out at Factory in Ludhiana; Smoke Visible 2 Km Away, 50 Employees Escape

A sudden massive fire broke out in a furniture factory in Jagraon, Ludhiana. The fire was so intense that its high flames and clouds of black smoke were visible nearly 2 kilometers away. After the incident, a sense of panic spread in the area.

The employees working inside the factory ran outside in time to save their lives. Within a few minutes, the fire took on a monstrous form. A large quantity of wood, plywood, and both finished and raw furniture was stored inside the factory, which caused the fire to spread rapidly.

People from nearby villages and towns also saw large clouds of black smoke rising into the sky. After the fire broke out, a crowd gathered around the factory. As soon as the information reached, fire brigade teams arrived at the spot.

At present, 4 vehicles of the fire department are engaged in extinguishing the fire and the relief work is ongoing. According to sources, welding work was going on in the factory at that time. During this, a spark from the welding fell on the materials stored inside the factory, which caused the fire.

50 employees were working

According to information, a fire broke out at a furniture factory located on Kothe Khajura Road, where about 50 employees were working. Around 3:30 PM, suddenly smoke was seen coming out from inside the factory. In no time, the smoke turned into black clouds, and within minutes the fire engulfed the entire factory.

The employees inside the factory raised an alarm and immediately ran outside to save their lives. The flames were so intense that panic spread throughout the surrounding areas. People immediately informed the fire brigade and police.

As soon as the information was received, fire department vehicles reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. Since the factory had a large quantity of wood, plywood, and furniture materials, the fire kept spreading rapidly, and black smoke was visible from far and wide.

Suspicion of a short circuit

So far, the cause of the fire has not been identified. Initially, there is a suspicion of a short circuit, but its official confirmation will be made only after an investigation. The fire is suspected to have caused losses of several lakhs of rupees in the factory, although no information of any loss of life has emerged so far.
