A fire broke out on Wednesday morning at ‘Jannat Bar’, located in the PLA Market, reducing everything inside to ashes. The blaze was so intense that it engulfed the entire bar within moments. Exploding liquor bottles further fueled the fire, significantly increasing the extent of the damage.
Raging Fire and Swift Firefighting Response
According to reports, the fire broke out around 8:55 AM. Upon receiving the alert, three fire tenders immediately rushed to the scene. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after about 20 minutes of strenuous effort. Since the bar was closed, the fire did not spread significantly outwards, averting a major disaster. Firefighters had to break the bar’s glass windows to gain entry and fully extinguish the flames.
Owner Suspects Short Circuit; Damage Assessment Underway
Bar owner Amit arrived at the scene after learning of the incident and suggested that a short circuit might have caused the fire. He stated that people informed him after seeing smoke rising from the bar, prompting him to call the fire department. According to Amit, the fire destroyed all the furniture, air conditioners, the counter, and the entire stock of liquor stored inside. However, an exact assessment of the financial loss has not yet been determined.
Detailed Account of the Incident
Leading Fireman Sajjan Kumar Lamba stated that his team reached the site within approximately 10 minutes of receiving the alert. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control. Firefighters worked hard inside the premises and eventually succeeded in containing the blaze.
