Massive Fire at Rajasthan Refinery Hours Before PM Modi’s Mega Inauguration

Rajasthan: A fire broke out at the Pachpadra Refinery in Balotra, Rajasthan, around 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon. The fire broke out in the refinery’s Crude Distillation Unit (CDU), where crude oil coming from the pipeline is processed.

Fire safety system activated, employees evacuated

As soon as smoke rose, employees immediately activated the fire safety system. Several fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire. For safety reasons, the entire area was evacuated, and all employees were safely evacuated.

No casualties, cause to be determined after investigation

According to officials, no casualties have been reported at this time. Only after the fire is fully contained will a proper assessment of the damage and its causes be possible. Following the incident, vigilance has been increased in the area.

Concern grows ahead of PM Modi’s inauguration

It is noteworthy that Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate this refinery on Tuesday. The unit where the fire broke out is located approximately 800 meters from the proposed meeting venue where the Prime Minister’s program is scheduled to take place.
