A tragic incident unfolded late Friday night in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, when a local cow protection activist, widely known as Chandrashekhar or “Farsa Wale Baba”, lost his life after being allegedly hit by a vehicle suspected to be carrying cattle smugglers. The confrontation occurred in the Kosi area near Navipur village under the Kosi Kalan police limits. Initial reports say the vigilante was pursuing the truck on his motorcycle when the fatal impact took place, leaving him with severe injuries from which he died on the spot.

 Pursuit after alleged cow smuggling suspicion

According to police sources, Chandrashekhar and others spotted a truck late at night that they suspected was being used to transport cattle illegally. In recent years, cattle smuggling has been a point of tension in parts of northern India, with various groups attempting to curb the illicit transport of animals. In this case, the deceased mounted a high‑speed chase on his motorcycle, trying to intercept the vehicle when the collision is believed to have occurred.
