Meerut Case: Neighbours Expose Shocking Truth

In Meerut, the father stayed in the house with the corpse of the daughter for 4 months. Sprinkle perfume so that it does not smell. Finally, the rotten skeleton of daughter Priyanka was found. Neighbours and relatives suspect that Priyanka’s father Udaybhanu used to visit babas for her treatment.

According to the neighbours, the father has not seen the daughter being taken to the hospital till date. It is feared that his health deteriorated due to exorcism, which led to his death. To hide the death, Udaybhanu kept hiding the body of his daughter in the house.

Kept daughter’s death hidden for 4 months, wife had also committed suicide

In Sadar Teli Mohalla, retired education department official Udaybhanu Biswas lived in his house with his 35-year-old daughter Priyanka. In the same house, Udaybhanu Biswas’s wife had hanged herself. Relatives of Udaybhanu also have houses around his house. After the wife’s death, the father and daughter lived alone in this house.

For 4 months, no neighbor had seen daughter Priyanka. Udaybhanu often locked the house and went outside. When he came once or twice in between, he told the neighbors that his daughter’s health was bad and that she was admitted to the hospital. He did not say anything more. But on Friday night (10 April), relatives living in the neighborhood became suspicious.

They saw Udaybhanu sitting at a tea shop in Thaparnagar and caught him. They pressured him and asked, ‘Where is your daughter?’ Later, when the police arrived, they opened the house gate and looked inside, finding the daughter’s skeleton on the bed. Nearby, they found many empty perfume bottles and a pile of garbage inside the house as well.

During police interrogation, Udaybhanu stated that his daughter had died of jaundice. This is her corpse. He loves his daughter so much that he cannot leave her.

Father and daughter used to go somewhere daily by e-rickshaw

Neighbor Kulbhushan Jain said – My shop is right in front. Every day while opening the shop, I used to see that the father and daughter would go somewhere by e-rickshaw. They would return in the evening. This was their routine. Since they did not talk much to anyone, we never asked either. We also never saw them going to the doctor. The daughter would leave the house first and catch the e-rickshaw from the street. Father Udaybhanu would follow from behind, then both would go somewhere. They would return directly in the evening. In this same house, Udaybhanu’s wife had committed suicide by hanging.

Keeps daughter away from the phone, doesn’t pay for it

There are a few other shops just outside Udaybhanu’s house. People in the market said that daughter Priyanka seemed to be a bit mentally deranged. Because she would often come out of the house here on the street. She used to come on the road and sometimes ask for some food from someone and sometimes from someone in gestures. She would say bring me a packet of cheese or crisps, chips. He never gave money. The bus took the packet and went inside the house.

We also thought that he was mentally weak, so we never asked him or his father for money for 5-10 rupees. We used to think that Udaybhanu was of such a strange nature that he did not give money to his daughter, nor did he give her a phone. While he himself was retiring from a government job and taking a pension. People also told that Udaybhan has also bought a flat in front of this house. Which even relatives do not know.

Priyanka’s cousin sister Alpana also reached the spot after learning about the incident. Alpana said that when she came here, she often met Priyanka, Udaybhanu. About a year ago, I last saw Priyanka. She was of a very sweet nature. She was quite educated. She did MCA, MA. She used to read a lot. She didn’t work anywhere; she lived at home. Why his uncle was not getting married, we don’t even know.

We told him once or twice to get his daughter married, but he avoided the topic. We didn’t insist either. We met him at some wedding, and that’s when we talked. We don’t think it was a suicide, but she had jaundice. We don’t know where she was receiving treatment. During Durga Puja, uncle used to meet at the temple, and that’s where we would talk. To me, it seems like a case of mental disturbance.

Communication was also less with neighbors and relatives.

Relative Rupa Biswas says, Udaybhanu is my uncle-in-law. We pass by their house, but we never felt that a corpse was rotting inside the house. Uncle used to say that Priyanka had jaundice. She was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun. We didn’t know what was inside the house. Uncle didn’t let anyone enter the house. After aunty’s suicide, he reduced interaction with everyone.

Priyanka or her father Udaybhanu did not talk much with anyone. As long as Priyanka’s mother was alive, she used to meet neighbors and relatives. There would be visits to their house on birthdays, weddings, or festivals. But Priyanka and Udaybhanu did not converse much with anyone. Both kept to themselves. They reduced interactions with relatives.

The mother also committed suicide due to depression

Relatives reported that Udaybhanu’s wife Sharmishta was also in depression. She never openly shared her troubles with relatives. But in casual conversations, she used to say that Udaybhanu was involved in rituals and black magic. He did not go to doctors for treatment. He was also not allowing their daughter to get married. Perhaps falling into this depression, the wife also committed suicide inside the house.

Changed behavior after wife’s suicide
Relatives reported that Priyanka and her father Udaybhanu’s behavior completely changed after the death of the wife. Father and daughter both stayed locked inside the house alone. Even when they went outside, they did not talk much with anyone.

They had also reduced conversations with us. After aunt’s death, relatives never went inside their house. Both father and daughter did not talk to anyone from their side. They would go out of the house every day. They would go somewhere; we did not know where they were going. Then they would come back in the evening.

The father did this in Out of Sympathy

If you look at the geographical location of Udaybhanu’s house, there is a gated lane adjacent to the main road. Inside the street on the right is the house of Udaybhanu first. Inside the lane are the houses of Udaybhanu’s other brothers and relatives. This is the main way to get around.

One has to pass by Udaybhanu’s house to come and go. But in the past 4 months, no one has noticed any smell from the house. Nor was there any suspicion of a corpse. Employees come to use the washroom next door. They too did not suspect a corpse. Children come to the neighboring house to take tuition.
