Kolkata : The Kolkata High Court has directed the West Bengal government to submit a detailed report by December 22 on the disturbance and vandalism that occurred during Lionel Messi’s concert at the Salt Lake Stadium. The order was issued in light of three public interest litigations.
Allegations of management and financial irregularities
The petitioners have raised questions about irregularities in ticket prices (ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹12,000) and the effectiveness of the inquiry committee formed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Demand for independent investigation
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, has requested the Governor to order an independent judicial inquiry and questioned the impartiality of the committee, which was formed under the leadership of retired judge Ashim Kumar Roy.
