New York: Inter Miami CF extended their unbeaten streak to four matches this MLS season by defeating New York City FC 3-2.

Defenders Gonzalo Lujan and Mikael scored their first goals for Inter Miami, while captain Lionel Messi also scored with a brilliant free-kick. Lujan gave the team the lead in the fourth minute, his first career goal.

New York City FC equalized in the 17th minute through Nicolas Fernandez and took the lead in the 59th through Agustin Ojeda. However, Messi equalized the score with a free-kick in the 61st minute, after which Mikael gave the team the lead again with a header in the 74th minute.
