Middle East Tension: Iran Launches Major Attacks on US and Israeli Bases, Halting Flights in the Region

New Delhi: The situation in the Middle East has escalated as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a sixth wave of missile and drone attacks on US and Israeli bases. Major cities like Dubai, Doha, and Manama were targeted. According to Iranian state media, the operation was the “most intense” to date, targeting 27 US bases, Israel’s Tel Nof Air Base, the HaKriya Command Headquarters, and the defense industrial complex in Tel Aviv.

 Explosions in Gulf Cities

Residents of Dubai, Doha, and Manama heard multiple explosions on Sunday morning. Sirens sounded in Kuwait and Israel. Targeted locations in Dubai included Jebel Ali Port, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, and Dubai International Airport.

US and Israel Respond; Trump Warns

Following the confirmation of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Israel launched a second wave of attacks on Iran. US President Donald Trump warned on social media:

> “Iran said they will attack very forcefully today… If they do, we will respond with a force never seen before!”

Airports Closed, Thousands of Flights Cancelled

Air travel in the Middle East was severely disrupted. Dubai Airport, the world’s busiest, was closed following Saturday’s attacks. More than 2,300 flights have been cancelled in the region, with the following breakdown for major airlines:

* Emirates: 87% of flights cancelled
* FlyDubai: 89%
* Etihad: 67%
* Gulf Air: 79%
* Qatar Airways: 36%

Indian airlines such as IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express, and SpiceJet have cancelled approximately 410 flights, with 444 more flights expected to be affected on Sunday.
