Amritsar, August 23: In Amritsar, Punjab, an 18-year-old migrant girl allegedly ended her life by hanging herself. She was working in a bungalow for the last two years. When the family reached the spot after getting the news of her sudden death on Saturday, they made serious allegations.
According to the police, initial information revealed that the girl committed suicide by hanging herself. But the family who reached the spot rejected this claim and said that their daughter’s death was not a suicide but a murder.
The family alleges that her hands and legs were burnt, which makes them suspect that she was killed by electric shock and later an attempt was made to pass off the incident as a suicide.
Allegations against the house owner
The family and relatives made serious allegations against the owner of the house and protested, demanding justice for the deceased. The family said that their daughter was supporting the family by working hard, but she was murdered by assaulting her as part of a conspiracy.
The body was sent for a postmortem
SHO Ranjeet Singh informed that the police inspected the spot, took the body into their custody and sent it for postmortem. He said, “The matter is being investigated. The actual situation will be clear only after the postmortem report comes, and further action will be taken on that basis.”
