Miley Cyrus Shares Glimpse Into Songwriting Evolution For ‘Bass Persuades’

Miley: Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus has given fans a glimpse into her songwriting process, sharing raw voice notes from the making of her project ‘Bass Persuades’ and reflecting on how her ideas evolved during the creative process.

Cyrus took to Instagram to share snippets from her recording sessions. She revealed that some of the songs began as simple mumbles, while others had already developed into fully realised ideas.

“Found some voice notes from my writing process for BP. Sometimes it’s just mumbles, sometimes a fully realized idea,” Miley wrote while sharing the recordings.

She added that she enjoyed listening back to how the songs developed over time and decided to share some of the discoveries with her fans.

“Some things changed and some stayed the same but I love hearing the evolution of the songwriting. Wanted to share some of the findings with you!” she said.

Miley Announces 10th Studio Album

On September 2, Cyrus announced that her 10th studio album, ‘Bass Persuades’, would be released on September 18.

In her announcement, she described the project as an exploration of the way music connects with people through emotions and different experiences.

“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on,” Cyrus wrote, describing the album as powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong, while reflecting on heartache and the different experiences of life.

From Hannah Montana To Genre-Spanning Music Career

Cyrus began her career as a child actress and rose to prominence as a teen idol through the television series ‘Hannah Montana’.

Her music career began with the US number-one pop-rock albums ‘Meet Miley Cyrus’ and ‘Breakout’. Her song ‘Party in the U.S.A.’, from the EP ‘The Time of Our Lives’, went on to become one of the best-selling singles.

In 2013, Cyrus moved into trap-pop and R&B with ‘Bangerz’, which featured the songs ‘We Can’t Stop’ and ‘Wrecking Ball’. The latter became her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one single.

She later explored psychedelic, country and rock influences across albums including ‘Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz’, ‘Younger Now’ and ‘Plastic Hearts’.

With ‘Bass Persuades’, Cyrus continues to explore her songwriting and the evolution of her musical ideas.
