Minimum temperature in Punjab reaches 4.4 degrees; morning-evening cold intensifies

Nights have become colder in Punjab. The minimum temperature has dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in all areas. The minimum temperature has dropped by 0.6 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours, bringing it closer to the average temperature.

Faridkot was the coldest, recording a minimum temperature of 4.4 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry today. There will also be light fog in some places. However, there is no warning for rain.

Air pollution in Punjab and Chandigarh

Even though the paddy harvesting season is almost over, the air quality in the state is not improving. Most districts still have an AQI above 100. At 6 am, Amritsar’s AQI was 130, Jalandhar’s AQI was 149, Khanna’s AQI was 119, Ludhiana’s AQI was 164, Mandi Gobindgarh’s AQI was 147, and Patiala’s AQI was 158.

Regarding Chandigarh’s AQI, Sector 22 recorded an AQI of 147, while Sector 25 recorded an AQI of 131. Sector 52 recorded no AQI.

According to the Meteorological Department, night temperatures are decreasing. However, starting November 28th, night temperatures are expected to remain between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state. However, night temperatures may remain between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius in some areas of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Patiala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh, Ludhiana, and Mohali.

While minimum temperatures will remain below normal in southern and southwestern Punjab, temperatures are expected to be slightly below normal in other areas.

Meanwhile, maximum daytime temperatures are expected to be between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius in northern and northeastern districts. Daytime temperatures in other districts may range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures in southwestern Punjab will be slightly below normal, while those in other areas are expected to be slightly above normal.
