Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi launched a scathing attack on the central government over the AI Summit 2026. He said that the country was disgraced internationally by claiming a Chinese robot dog was Indian. Negi alleged that such incidents have damaged the country’s image.
‘Claims of becoming a world leader are hollow’
Negi sarcastically said that claims of world leadership are being made in the name of the AI Summit, while the reality is different. He said that even today, 800 million people in the country are dependent on free rations and the public is being misled by tall claims. He also said that earlier, there were different statements on the Rafale issue, but now a different story is emerging.
‘Protest is a democratic right’
Regarding the Youth Congress protests, Negi stated that peaceful protest is a democratic right. He added that the BJP also held protests during the Commonwealth Games, but the country’s image was not tarnished. He alleged that the BJP’s ideology is divisive.
‘Announcement of 1500 crores, but no money received’
Negi said that Narendra Modi had announced 1500 crore rupees for Himachal in 2025, but not a single penny has been received. He also questioned the central government regarding the budget announced for the 2023 disaster and the RDG.
