Questions raised again about the safety of girls
This incident has also raised concerns about the safety of girls on the routes they use to commute between home, school, and coaching centers, especially in areas where female students travel alone.
This incident in Muzaffarpur comes amid several similar incidents reported in recent days in Jamui, Samastipur, Kishanganj, Banka, Begusarai, Gaya, and other districts of Bihar.
However, Bihar Police has solved many of these cases and arrested several accused.
Opposition targets government over law and order
Despite prompt action by the Bihar Police in many cases, the state government has faced criticism over incidents of crime against women and girls.
Opposition leaders have specifically targeted the government over the law and order situation in Bihar.
They have alleged that women and girls live in fear even when they step out of their homes and have questioned the government’s ability to ensure their safety.
