Body of Missing Woman Recovered from Ravine in Shimla

Shimla: The body of 45-year-old Krishna Devi, a woman who had been missing since February 26, was recovered from a deep ravine in Kunni village of Rampur Bushahr subdivision in Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh. The deceased was identified as Krishna Devi, wife of Diwan Singh, a resident of Kunni, Shahdhar.

She was missing since February 26.

According to reports, Krishna Devi left her home on the morning of February 26th and never returned. Her family searched for her on their own, but after finding no trace, they informed the police.

Body found during search

The police team, along with the family, launched a search operation. During the search, the woman’s body was discovered in a deep, rocky ravine near Kunni village during the day. The body was stuck in a very inaccessible location, making it extremely challenging to retrieve.

NDRF team launched rescue operation

Given the geographical conditions of the area, the local administration sought the assistance of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The 14th NDRF team from Jury arrived at the scene and began the rescue operation. However, darkness posed difficulties in retrieving the body. The following morning, February 27th, a team led by NDRF Inspector Ashok conducted a second operation and safely retrieved the body.

Police started investigation

The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for a post-mortem examination. After the post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family. Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
