Mission Clean in Punjab

The Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has decided to launch the Mission Clean campaign to clean the state and eliminate unhygienic conditions. The government has taken a major step to eliminate garbage. The government will launch a campaign from August 29 to September 7 to make Punjab garbage-free. Local Bodies Minister Harjot Singh Bains has announced that under the Mission Clean campaign in Punjab, illegal garbage dumps will be removed from cities within 10 days. The MLA, DC, Municipal Commissioner, ADC, EO and NGOs of every assembly constituency will participate in this campaign. These officers will be in the field from 7 to 8 a.m. The Local Bodies Minister will monitor the campaign at the grassroots level. The citizens of the state have also been involved in this campaign. They have been asked to report garbage dumps near them by uploading photos on the M-Seva app. Harjot Singh Bains has said that this should not be considered a government campaign, but rather a people’s movement. He urged the sanitation workers that it is everyone’s duty to ensure that this monumental effort is not wasted due to their irresponsible behavior. Bains went to Amritsar late at night to inspect the cleanliness drive. He said that sanitation workers thoroughly clean an area, but after some time, garbage is dumped there again. Therefore, not only sanitation workers but every citizen should behave responsibly to ensure this campaign is not wasted. This campaign will be carried out in every city, and citizens will also have to actively participate in the cleanliness drive in their surrounding areas and neighborhoods. Bains said that Punjab is a clean and beautiful state, the sacred land of gurus and saints. Spirituality permeates every particle of Punjab. Therefore, keeping it clean, beautiful, and hygienic is the responsibility of all of us, including the government, sanitation workers, and citizens.
