Moga Sets an Example in Stubble Management; SSP and DC Take Lead Under Mann Government

Moga district has emerged as a powerful symbol of this transformation, where Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Gandhi personally rode tractors into the fields to demonstrate post-harvest tilling alongside farmers. This scene was more than just an administrative event it carried a strong emotional message: burning stubble is not necessary; if we work together, every problem can be solved.

They emphasized that stubble burning is not a compulsion but a harmful practice that can be changed with awareness, cooperation, and collective effort. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government has consistently shown that governance is not merely about issuing orders but about standing with the people.

Whether it is education reforms, expansion of healthcare services, or environmental protection, the government has led from the front reflecting the voice of the people. Moga’s initiative strengthens the government’s conviction that “if farmers are Punjab’s backbone, then the environment is its soul.”

The smoke from stubble burning is a major cause of road accidents every year across North India. Dense smog covers highways, causing visibility to drop and claiming many innocent lives. By discouraging stubble burning, not only will the air become cleaner, but roads will be safer and many lives will be saved.

Under the guidance of the Mann government, the efforts of Moga’s administration are helping reduce accidents while improving air quality. This is true service protecting both the field and human life.

When farmers and the government work together, every field can flourish with green.” During their visit to several villages in the Bagha Purana block, the officials demonstrated stubble management techniques by tilling harvested fields.

DC Sagar Setia said the district administration is making strong efforts to promote scientific and eco-friendly stubble management methods. “We are ensuring easy access to environmentfriendly agricultural machinery so that no farmer burns stubble due to lack of equipment,” he said. SSP Ajay Gandhi added that the police are working closely with the civil administration to curb stubble burning and ensure effective enforcement of regulations.
