Mohali: Gunshots fired during early hours at Gym, Owner seriously injured

At around 4:50 am today, bike-borne assailants fired five bullets at Vicky, the owner of a gym in Mohali’s Phase 2. Vicky was seriously injured in the attack and was immediately admitted to Indus Hospital. A CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which the sound of gunfire can be heard, and the assailants on a bike are seen running away.

According to sources, Vicky was lying in his Baleno car when the motorcycle-borne miscreants opened fire on him. The gym owner was hit in the legs by bullets. The watchman of Market Phase-2 station immediately informed the police. The police of the Phase-1 police station are investigating the incident. It is not yet known who fired the bullets.

Eyewitness Sandeep Singh said that the incident took place between 4:50 am and 5 am. “We were doing our work when we heard the sounds. It sounded like crackers were going off, but then a boy came out and said that there were gunshots”, he added.

When they arrived, they saw the injured man lying there, blood flowing from his legs. The boys who came to the gym took him to the hospital. SI Jaswant Singh, who reached the spot, said that the injured youth is in the hospital. CCTV cameras are being examined.
