Mohali Shocker: Jilted Lover kills woman as she refused to patch up, attempts suicide later

A young woman working at a private company in Mohali was murdered inside her office by her jilted lover. The accused used to work alongside her. The accused first stabbed her in the neck more than 10 times with a knife. Subsequently, after killing her, he attempted to commit suicide but was unsuccessful.

Both individuals were rushed to Fortis Hospital in critical condition, where doctors pronounced the young woman dead. The accused, meanwhile, remains in critical condition.

CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced. Upon receiving information about the crime, police from the Phase-11 station arrived at the scene and took stock of the situation. A post-mortem examination of the victim’s body is scheduled to be conducted today.

Shocking incident from Mohali

The incident took place on Thursday evening, around 7:30 PM, at the office of SRP US Logistics—located in Phase-11, Mohali. The deceased, Dimple (29), worked as a member of the company’s dispatch team. The accused, Harjinder (34), also worked at the same company; reports suggest that their workstations were situated close to one another.

Knife Attack Following an Altercation

According to the police’s preliminary investigation, the accused entered Dimple’s cabin during the evening hours. An altercation reportedly ensued between the two over some issue. As the dispute escalated, the accused launched a frenzied knife attack on Dimple. Before nearby employees could fully comprehend what was happening, the young woman had already sustained severe injuries.

Accused Attempts Suicide

The incident plunged the office into chaos. Employees immediately alerted the police and summoned an ambulance. It is alleged that after attacking the young woman, the accused turned the knife on himself in an attempt to commit suicide.

Dimple Dies; Accused Critical

Police from the Phase-11 station arrived at the scene, and both injured individuals were transported to Fortis Hospital for medical treatment. Doctors pronounced Dimple dead, while the accused, Harjinder, was admitted in critical condition and has begun receiving treatment. Following the incident, the police initiated an investigation within the office premises. A forensic team was also summoned to the scene.

The police have gathered evidence and seized footage from the CCTV cameras installed at the office. According to SHO Aman Baidwan, the statements of the deceased’s family members have been recorded, and further legal action is underway. The police are currently investigating the motives behind the murder, as well as the relationship between the accused and the deceased. As per reports, the accused was upset after breakup and thus killed Dimple in her office and later attempted suicide himself.
