As the monsoons depart, mountains heat up again: Here are weather predictions

As the monsoon departs Himachal Pradesh, temperatures have begun to rise. The sunshine has warmed the mountains. On Thursday, Una recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees. The capital, Shimla, and other areas remained sunny today. The Meteorological Center, Shimla, has predicted clear weather throughout the state until October 2nd. Conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to withdraw from the rest of Himachal Pradesh over the next two days. The monsoon withdrawal line is passing through Rampur Bushahr and other areas.

Monsoon losses of over 5,000 crore rupees
Amar Ujala Bureau, Shimla. Revenue, Horticulture, and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi stated that the state has estimated losses of over 5,000 crore rupees during this monsoon season, including government and non-government property. Roads, agricultural, and horticultural land have suffered significant damage. He added that even in 2023, the state government did not receive adequate disaster relief funds from the Center, while the state government provided 500 crore rupees from its own resources. BJP leaders are misleading the public by claiming that the central government has released financial assistance worth crores of rupees to the state.

427 people lost their lives
From June 20th to September 19th, 2025, 427 people lost their lives in the state. 651 concrete houses and 1012 kutcha houses were completely damaged, while 2287 kutcha and 4908 kutcha houses were partially damaged. 584 shops and factories, 58 labor sheds, 7048 cow shelters, and 104 gharats and cremation grounds were damaged. Jagat Singh Negi said that those whose houses were destroyed are being given a grant of Rs. 7 lakh. The central government provides only Rs. 1.30 lakh.
