Monsoon slows down in Himachal Pradesh; Orange alert in 5 districts

Shimla, June 24: Monsoon has slowed down in Himachal Pradesh. Despite repeated warnings from the Meteorological Department, most parts are not receiving good rainfall. Even today (Tuesday), light rain is expected in some areas of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is forecast to remain clear in Bilaspur, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti districts today. Light rain may occur in Una, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra and Sirmaur districts.

Orange alert in 5 districts tomorrow

Two days ago, an orange alert for heavy rain was issued in 8 districts for June 25. But in the latest bulletin, orange alert has been issued in only 5 districts on June 25. This warning has been given to Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra and Sirmaur districts. Yellow alert has been issued for Bilaspur, Mandi, Shimla and Solan districts.

Heavy rain in 4 districts on 26 June

There is a forecast of heavy rain in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Kangra districts on June 26. Yellow alert has been issued in Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts.

Western Disturbance will weaken again on 27th June. Heavy rain is forecast only in Mandi district on this day. Yellow alert has been issued in Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts on this day. Weather will remain clear in the other seven districts.

Monsoon has covered 90 percent of the area

Monsoon entered Shimla, Sirmaur, Kangra and some parts of Kinnaur district on 20th June. Now monsoon has reached 90% of the areas. Due to slowing down of monsoon speed, monsoon can reach Baddi of Solan district, Una’s areas bordering Punjab and Paonta Sahib by this evening.
