Madhya Pradesh has secured the top position in the Anaemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Scorecard for 2025–26, reflecting strong performance in reducing anaemia among women, children, and adolescents under the national health programme.
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla credited the achievement to the dedicated efforts of health workers, including ASHA workers, ANMs, Anganwadi staff, and medical teams working at the grassroots level. He said their coordinated work in screening, treatment, and awareness campaigns played a key role in improving the state’s health indicators.
The Anaemia Mukt Bharat initiative, launched under the National Health Mission, focuses on reducing anaemia through iron and folic acid supplementation, deworming programmes, dietary awareness, and regular health screening for vulnerable groups.
Officials said Madhya Pradesh’s strong implementation of these interventions helped it outperform other states in the national ranking, marking a significant improvement in maternal and child health outcomes.
The programme continues to aim at reducing anaemia levels across India, especially among pregnant women, adolescent girls, and young children.
