MP Kang, MLA Dr. Sukhi visit Flood-Hit Areas, Raghav Chadha allocates Rs 3.25 crore for relief work

Heavy rains have affected all 23 districts and over 1200 villages of Punjab. Looking at the grappling situation, the Punjab Government has officially declared the state as ‘disaster hit’. Meanwhile, AAP MP Malvinder Singh Kang, along with MLA Dr Sukhwinder Sukhi assessed the situation at ground level. Both leaders met people who have borne huge losses due to incessant floods.

Assurance to compensate all kinds of damage due to floods by the Punjab government was given to people by AAP leaders.

Raghav Chadha allocates ₹3.25 Cr from MPLAD Funds for Disaster relief work

AAP Rajya Sabha Member Raghav Chadha also earlier in the day announced allocation of Rs 3.25 crore from the MPLAD funds. He said that out of allocated fund, ₹2.75 Crore will be utilised for strengthening flood protection embankments so that villages of the state remain safe from floods in future. Remaining ₹50 Lakh will be utilised for relief & rehabilitation of the people.

In a video shared on X, he further said, “This is Punjab’s money, for Punjab’s people. I will also raise this issue in Parliament & appeal to the Centre for maximum support.”

Punjab is battling one of the worst floods in recent history. Homes destroyed, farmlands submerged, cattle lost & 30 precious lives gone.
