Himachal Budget: ‘Mukhyamantri Sukhi Parivar Yojana’ to be launched; 1 lakh poor families covered

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made several announcements during his budget speech. In his address, the Chief Minister stated that extremely poor BPL (Below Poverty Line) families would be identified.

One lakh poor families will be selected for this initiative. These represent the most economically deprived families in the state. The Chief Minister announced the launch of the ‘Mukhyamantri Sukhi Parivar Yojana’ (Chief Minister’s Happy Family Scheme) specifically for these families.

Under this scheme, these families will receive 300 units of free electricity. Families currently lacking permanent housing will be provided with this facility in a phased manner. Additionally, the women members of these families will receive financial assistance of ₹1,500 each.

The Chief Minister also announced that ‘night picnic’ facilities would be introduced at various tourist destinations. A simplified policy for film shooting will be formulated, and night picnic facilities will be launched at key tourist spots.

150 Posts for Panchayat Secretaries to be Filled; 500 Youths to Receive Subsidy for E-Taxis

The Chief Minister stated that 150 posts for Panchayat Secretaries would be filled. The posts of Panchayat Watchmen will also be filled in a phased manner. Furthermore, 500 youths will be provided with a 50 percent subsidy for the purchase of e-taxis. A budgetary allocation of ₹50 crore has been made for this purpose. Additionally, the monthly rental rate for e-taxis will be increased by ₹5,000.
