Student Dies by Suicide at Nursing Institute in Muktsar; Six Others Fall Ill Due to Shock

In the village of Badal in Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab, a female student died in the hostel of the State Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences. Late last night, a 20-year-old GNM (second year) student hanged herself in her room.

The deceased has been identified as Tanu, a resident of Ropar district. The police are investigating the matter at the site. According to information, the incident occurred in Hostel Number Two at around 9:30 PM. At that time, the student was alone in the room. According to sources, upon discovering the incident, other students immediately informed the hostel management.

After the incident, the health of a total of six students, including two roommates of the deceased living in the hostel, suddenly deteriorated. They were taken to Civil Hospital Badal twice by the institute’s ambulance around 11 PM. It is being reported that the condition of these roommates worsened after hearing the news of the student’s death.
