Multi-vehicle collision Ludhiana-Jalandhar highway disrupts traffic, one injured

A horrific road accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday near Ladowal Chowk on the Jalandhar National Highway (NH-44) in Ludhiana. A speeding truck hit a car turning at a bend near Ladowal Chowk. Four other vehicles, including an Indian Oil tanker, were subsequently hit in quick succession. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.

The collision disrupted traffic on the highway, causing a long traffic jam. The Indian Oil tanker’s involvement in the accident caused panic. Fears of an oil spill had raised concerns, but the tanker did not leak, bringing relief.

How did the accident happen?

According to eyewitness Ram Singh, a car was turning from the highway near Ladowal Chowk when it was struck by a speeding truck traveling in the opposite direction. The car was severely damaged. Following the collision, the Indian Oil tanker, which had been coming from behind, lost control and collided with the truck in front. Another truck and then another small vehicle following the tanker also collided with each other.

No one was seriously injured, but five vehicles were damaged.

The driver of the truck that first collided was slightly injured. The car was badly damaged. A total of five vehicles collided, including two cars and three trucks/tankers. A long traffic jam formed at the scene immediately after the accident. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and began clearing the traffic by removing the damaged vehicles.
