Mumbai rains hit Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow Prateeksha

Mumbai — Heavy monsoon rains in Mumbai have once again triggered widespread waterlogging and flooding, with even Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan feeling the deluge. A video viral on social media showing ankle-deep water outside Bachchan’s Juhu bungalow Prateeksha quickly, capturing the city’s harsh weather impact on a high-profile residence.

The circulating clip shows water accumulating along the stretch outside Prateeksha, which Bachchan gifted to his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. In the video, rainwater is seen seeping into the premises, and the narrator remarks on the high water levels, noting that even a person of Bachchan’s stature has to contend with the monsoon onslaught. The footage also captures a car stranded outside the bungalow before security personnel assistive response.

Prateeksha holds a storied place in the Bachchan family. It was Amitabh Bachchan’s first Mumbai home, purchased in 1976 after Sholay’s blockbuster success. The house was later named Prateeksha by Bachchan’s father, the poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. The property was gifted to Shweta Bachchan Nanda, marking a notable moment in the family’s real estate and personal history. Market reports cited by Moneycontrol put the value of Prateeksha at over Rs 50 crore, with the transfer executed via a gift deed and stamp duty paid at approximately Rs 50.65 lakh.

Mumbai’s monsoon season has repeatedly disrupted daily life, infrastructure, and real estate, highlighting the city’s ongoing battle with urban flooding. Local authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and to follow safety advisories during periods of heavy rainfall.
