Gunfire in Delhi: Police catch shooters planning to kill Munawar Faruqui

New Delhi: Delhi Police have held two criminals from Haryana in an encounter. They are accused of planning to murder stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui, winner of the 17th season of the TV reality show Bigg Boss. They were hired by the Rohit Godara gang to do so.

It is also being claimed that they conducted recce in Mumbai and Bengaluru to assassinate the comedian. Upon receiving information that the two men were in Delhi, the police laid a trap and attempted to apprehend them. When they opened fire on the police, the police returned fire, injuring both criminals.

The accused have been identified as Sahil, a resident of Bhiwani, and Rahul, a resident of Panipat. However, the Bhiwani police have no information regarding this. DSP Headquarters Mahesh Kumar stated that they have not received any information regarding this encounter.

According to media reports, Delhi Police received information that the accused men might be passing through the New Friends Colony area of ​​Delhi. Acting on this information, the police laid a siege and apprehended the two accused. Weapons and a motorcycle were seized from them at the scene, and further investigation is underway.

Both are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. During interrogation, Delhi Police learned that the two accused are two shooters from the gang of gangsters Rohit Godara and Virendra Charan. They were planning to assassinate comedian Munawar Faruqui.

Goldy had given the responsibility for the murder.

Police have revealed that the two were acting on the instructions of foreign gangster Rohit Godara. Rohit Godara works with Goldy Brar and Virender Charan, and these three had planned the murder of Munawar Faruqui. Goldy had assigned the responsibility of killing Munawar to Sahil and Rahul.

Regarding the two shooters, police said Rahul is wanted in connection with a triple murder case that occurred in Yamunanagar, Haryana, in 2024. He was shot. Munawar Faruqui is also under threat from the Lawrence gang. He is a target of their attack due to his controversial statements.
